Seattle Rats
Real Estate around Seattle
Oh Rats, I didn’t know this!
Seattle rats, where do they come from?
Why not spend some time in your crawl space?
Because it is the last thing you want to do. This seller, like most, never thought of it. The home was built in 2000 and looked picture perfect inside and out. The expansive lawn was as green as it only gets in Seattle and my clients loved most everything about the interior.
A few days later we had the general inspection. The last place to be examined in a general inspection is the crawl space. The news emerging from below was not good. “Rats,” he said and recommended a special pest inspection which showed evidence of considerable damage by these rodents. Seattle rats and vermin of any kind are a common problem in the Seattle area where water features prominently in the geography and trees make perfect “jumping-off points” for many kinds of rodents. Also, new construction drives a Seattle rat from rural living to a more urban lifestyle. Sightings of rats in the Seattle area are double the national average,
The elimination of this pesky problem is best left to the experts – pest professionals who do this kind of work every day. They will not kill the rats in your crawl space but lure them to their nests outside with some “take-out” morsel which will kill the entire brood. Most importantly, the experts will find and close all conceivable points of entry. A regular maintenance program will help keep the place clean. If you are a homeowner and haven’t taken a look at your crawl space, I highly recommend you call a licensed professional to check things out. It will save you from unpleasant surprises later and potentially save you a boatload of money when you put your home on the market. And, keep this in mind when you put your home on the market.
What a client said
There is nothing more enjoyable and productive than knowing that you and the client are on the same page. One of my clients gave this sentiment voice with a recommendation that articulated the particular circumstances of our relationship:
Gerhard was a pleasure to work with. He worked tirelessly on our behalf during both times we have used him to find a home (a relocation rental and a purchase). His knowledge of the area was a great benefit in our search. His prompt responses (even late at night) and technical savvy allowed us to move quickly once the right home was found. His conduct was upstanding throughout the process, from interacting with our children to the writing of contracts. I would recommend Gerhard to my family and friends without hesitation. — K. Andrus
