The Best of Two Worlds
As I mentioned in the December 2018 issue of the View from the Street, I’ve created ReSeattle.com, a new website just for home sellers. Sellers and Buyers experience the world of real estate in an entirely different way. They differ in their respective needs and their level of commitment with their agent, so it makes good sense to serve them with different websites.
A site deserving of its name
SeattleRealEstateNews.com (SERENE) offers the usual search capabilities with many of them curated to appeal to the buyer who is new to the Seattle area. The searches for active, pending and sold properties are updated every hour. SERENE also presents monthly updated three-year market trends for over 50 Seattle area zip codes. The “news” aspect of the site is represented by the monthly news releases of the Northwest Multiple Listing Service (NWMLS) and the archive of my mid-month newsletter News with a View. For the site to deserve its name, my plans call for adding other newsworthy real estate content.
A website for serious sellers
While the information on SERENE is appealing to a broad audience, the content of ReSeattle.com is more personal. The site services the needs of the individual seller, both in the preparation of the listing and the custom listing of a property. The site also serves as the archive of my month-end newsletter “The View from the Street.” The subject matters of this newsletter are covered in some detail and are by no means limited to real estate. For example, in December 2017 I wrote about the time I bought Jeff Bezos lunch and on August 2018 I professed my passion for typography.
I wrote this while visiting with clients and family. If you want to know why public transportation is a dream in Freiburg, my home town, stay tuned. If you are interested in the boisterous atmosphere at a jam-packed game of the SC Freiburg soccer club, check my Facebook page. And if you are interested in the beauty of the Black Forest, check my Instagram posts.
Here’s a visual sampling.
I was nine hours ahead of you when I published this in my January 31 newsletter but now I’m back on Seatle time. Regardless of the time zone, I’m with you all the way.
